A COLAC man has called for Colac retailers to become more wheelchair-friendly, after lack of access prevented his wheelchair-bound wife from using Colac businesses.
Shops must lift game on wheelchair access
Brian and Margaret Maher are encouraging Colac shop owners, staff and community members to be considerate of people in wheelchairs after encountering shops and staff who were unwilling to accommodate them.

It’s sad to hear that there still places and people out there that don’t accommodate for people with mobility aids… even I have had experience with that myself earlier this year.
Its nice foe the shops to have things out on the path to show, but it does take up a lot of space, especially when some pedestrians are oblivious to others around them and stand in the middle of a pathway or door. ☹
