Colac motorists could be enjoying cheaper petrol prices, with a Melbourne-based company planning to build a new independent petrol station on the Princes Highway west.
Petrol outlet to cut prices

Don’t agree with you Jayson, Liberty is a big enough company in its own right to fend off any takeover bid. The most important thing is for Colac motorists to support them by buying their fuel there even if ‘The Big Boys’ (Coles and Woolworths) try to undercut them. If Liberty gets that support they will prevail and Colac motorists will (finally) benefit from cheaper fuel prices.
Cool, some outside competition.
I’m interested to see which side of the highway they are going to go… east bound has more traffic due to G.O.R travelers returning to the city.
Hi Juggy. Yes, the site is east-bound, on the north side of the road.
Cheers David. ?
Well, this will last for a year (if that), until a bigger mob comes along and buys them out and then jacks up the price. Funnily enough, last Wednesday, fuel was 10c/l cheaper in Colac than it was in Melbourne (apart from LPG that is) and in most parts of Geelong, work that one out!
