Pupils at Colac’s Sacred Heart School are enjoying a new administration building after work on the more than $1 million building was completed.
Corangamite MP Sarah Henderson officially opened the building that includes a new front office, principal’s office, deputy principal’s officer, boardroom, staff work room, staff amenities, staff lounge and three small learning areas.
The Federal Government provided $1,060,000 from the Capital Grants Program to build the $1.2 million administration wing.
“It was great to visit Sacred Heart School and see the new facilities firsthand and the impact they will have,” Ms Henderson said.
“Students and the whole school community will benefit from using the new facilities,” she said.
“These new learning spaces take into account the latest in education research and will see students learn more effectively.”
Federal Education and Training Minister Simon Birmingham said while buildings don’t make a great school he hoped students and staff at the Sacred Heart would enjoy learning and the new building would be inspiring.
