I clearly remember the oak tree from my school days in the 1940’s and am sorry to hear that it now has a death sentence hanging over it. No more acorns and leaves in the autumn for the kids to play with, time passing is sure unforgiving.

I remember sitting under it in 1964, in my first week in year 1 at Colac West. I hope they plant another.
