Colac footballer Cooper Stephens will make his VFL debut for Williamstown in tomorrow’s clash against Essendon.
The 18-year-old Geelong Falcons graduate has taken just two rounds to earn his call-up after signing with the Seagulls in December.
His first pre-season with Williamstown has been so impressive, that club officials re-signed him for a second year in February before he’d even played a game.
“That’s how impressed we’ve been with Cooper,” Williamstown football general manager Stephen Soulsby said.
“He’s been doing all the right things throughout the pre-season, so we were keen to give him an opportunity,” he said.
“His leadership has been really good, obviously he was a captain with the Falcons, but even though he’s so young his maturity and professionalism has been great, he’s even been able to guide some of the other young players.”
