Colac police and State Emergency Service volunteers have found stolen items at Lake Colac believed to be burgled from a Colac home earlier this month.

Detective Mick Palmer of Colac Criminal Investigation Unit said police arrested and charged an 18-year-old Colac man in relation to a burglary of items from a Colac home.

The man allegedly entered the home on December 4 and stole cash and jewellery from the premises.

Det Palmer said police enlisted the SES to help further investigations by conducting a line search yesterday afternoon at Lake Colac in a bid to locate stolen items.

About 10 SES volunteers and police conducted the search near the rowing club where they uncovered three items believed to be linked to the burglary.

Det Palmer said the search lasted about half an hour and uncovered three items, including a pouch which contained jewellery.
