Four Tigers likely to feature in interleague

Geelong Football League interleague coach Clinton Wells says four Colac Tigers are likely to feature in this weekend’s clash.

Jarryn McCormack.

Injury has ruled out midfielder Ryan Monaghan, general soreness, and ruckman Lochie Veale, hamstring, while VFL-listed Campbell Floyd is unavailable.

But Wells said captain Jack Melican, forward Luke Hillman, recruit Jarryn McCormack and former AFL player Joffy Simpkin were all likely to play in this weekend’s clash against the Northern Football League.

“We’ve got the squad down to 26, we’re still waiting on VFL selection to see whether we’ll have (St Joseph’s footballer) Jackson McLachlan and (Bell Park’s) Luke Smith,” Wells said.

“Lochie Veale rang me this morning and he’ll miss a couple with a hamstring so he’s out,” he said.

“But Jack Melican, Luke Hillman, Joffy Simpkin and Jarryn McCormack are all still in the mix, we’ll make the final call on Thursday.”
