Simpson spearhead Nick Harding says he has senior coaching aspirations in the future after taking on a leadership role on his return to the club in 2019.
The two-time premiership Tiger took on Simpson’s coaching reins for its round 14 clash with Irrewarra-Beeac on Saturday.
Harding led the club to a 13.18 (88) to 5.2 (32) win against the Bombers, with co-coaches Daniel Razga and Tom Leishman among three absentees for the Tigers’ trip to Irrewarra Recreation Reserve.
Assistant coach Harding, who returned to the club this year after two seasons with Cobden in the Hampden league, said there was more to coaching than he realised.
But the star forward, who led from the front with six goals on Saturday, said he was eager to take on a a head-coaching role later in his career.
