Bridge builders closer to final phase

Major Roads Projects Victoria has begun building the bridge deck over Colac’s Barongarook Creek.

Construction on Colac’s new Barongarook Creek Bridge progressed into its next phase this week, as workers began forming the bridge deck.

Major Roads Projects Victoria will pour around 280 cubic metres of concrete on top of the steel support beams it lifted into place last month.

MRPV program director Tim Price said it was exciting to see the bridge move closer to completion.

“We’re making great progress on the new bridge at Barongarook Creek and it means we’re now on the home stretch for this vital upgrade,” he said.
