Demons dominate MVP awards

Otway Districts’ Stewart Sutherland and Olivia Paatsch.

Otway Districts footballer Stewart Sutherland and netballer Olivia Paatsch are this year’s Colac Herald MVPs.

The two Demons were the stand-outs in the eyes of opposition coaches this season to each win a $500 fuel voucher, sponsored by Riordan Fuel.

Sutherland polled 37 votes to win the award for a second time.

He finished an impressive eight votes ahead of Colac Imperials rising star Bailey Scott, 29, with Simpson midfielder Brock Neal, 23, Apollo Bay coach Brent Macleod, 21, and South Colac’s Ben Lynch, 20, rounding out the top five.

Paatsch also polled 37 votes to narrowly edge out Lorne’s Brooke Bain, 36, Western Eagles’ Hayley Foster, 34, Alvie’s Chelsea Hillman, 30, and Simpson’s Amy Pemberton, 30.
