Juniors eager to win for injured teammate

Colac junior footballers Brady Hall, Tyler LoRicco and George Melville will lead their team in tomorrow’s AFL Barwon under-13 Division Two grand final against Drysdale Wilson.

Colac’s under-13 footballers will hope to win for fallen comrade Max Permezel in tomorrow’s grand final.

Permezel has missed the young Tigers’ finals campaign after breaking a collarbone in the final round of the home-and-away season three weeks ago.

Colac, which finished the season on top of the Division Two ladder, defeated Lara Smith in the second semi-final to advance to the grand final.

They will face Drysdale Wilson in tomorrow’s decider at Hamlyn Park.

“We lost one of our leaders just before finals, Max was our full back and a solid defender for us, he broke his collarbone in the last game,” Colac coach Abba Melville said.

“We’ve certainly missed him, but the good thing about our team is that we don’t rely on one or two players, others have stepped up,” he said.
