Flag-winning Tiger among new Swans

Colac Tigers premiership player Pat Seal has taken on an assistant coaching role with his home club Alvie in the Colac district league.

Colac Tigers premiership player Pat Seal headlines a massive list of footballers set to return to Colac district league club Alvie in 2020.

Seal will return to his junior club as an assistant coach following 12 years with Colac in the Geelong Football League.

The 29-year-old is set to re-join his former Alvie junior teammate and Colac premiership teammate Joe Dare who is gearing up for his second year as head coach.

A host of former Alvie juniors are also returning to the club after stints in Colac’s junior program; century goalkicker Cullan Spence, Sam Mahoney, Joe Loubey and Lachy Mulder, while also bringing in former Geelong Falcons jet Campbell Tanis.

Tanis racked up nine games in the TAC Cup in 2017 and ’18, narrowly missing out on a spot in the Falcons’ 2017 premiership side.

“We just think it’s good that these lads are coming back,” Swans president Frank Eldridge said.

“They can always go back to Colac if they want to test themselves down the track, but from our perspective it’s not a backwards step because here they’ve got someone like (former AFL-listed footballer) Joe Dare to learn from,” he said.
