New Colac Tigers life member Dean Felekos is set to miss the entire football season next year due to an upcoming overseas trip.
Colac coach Rowan McSparron confirmed Felekos, who notched up his 200th game with the Geelong Football League club this season, would be out of next year’s team, while star defender Tom Simpkin was also unlikely to return in 2020.
Simpkin ruptured his ACL for a second time in May this year and is yet to go under the knife.
“Tom’s getting married later this year and he’s got work to think about, so I’m not too sure when he’ll go in for surgery,” McSparron said.
“Dean is also out for next season unfortunately, he’s planning on going overseas for close to 12 months and he’s got a year off work,” he said.
McSparron said the loss of Felekos, arguably one of Colac’s most underrated players, would be a blow for the team.
