Colac Tigers coach Rowan McSparron says the club is eager to give the best young local talent a shot at the Geelong league after securing another Colac district football rising star.
The Tigers announced Colac Imperials young gun Bailey Scott had crossed to the club for the 2020 season.
Scott, who claimed this year’s Max Gray Memorial Award as the CDFL’s best under-21 player, continues the trend of players who have won the award to join Colac.
Last year’s Max Gray winner Dylan Clissold and 2017 recipient Dustin Walters both crossed to Colac this season, while Tigers skipper Jack Melican won the award in 2015 for Birregurra.
Tyler Flanigan, who took out the 2016 Max Gray, also spent time at the GFL club before returning to Irrewarra-Beeac last month.
McSparron said Colac officials had their sights on former Geelong Falcon Scott after he spent last summer training with the club before opting to stay another year at the Imps where he won a club best-and-fairest and finished runner-up in the league count.
“Bailey’s coming across from Imps which is exciting for the young fella,” he said.
