South Colac has secured a former VFL-listed footballer as its new assistant coach in a major boost for the club’s key-position stocks.
The Roos announced over the weekend that former VFL player Brad Collins and former Colac Tigers under-19 footballer Alby McNamara had joined the club.
Roos co-coach Josh Black said Collins would join South as a playing-assistant coach, who could play at either end of the ground.
Collins, a former Bendigo and Port Melbourne VFL footballer, has spent the past four seasons with Sea Lake Nandaly in the North Central Football League.
He played 55 games at Sea Lake and led the club to a premiership this year, booting 87 goals across the four years, including 34 in 2019.
“Collo has spent the last few seasons at Sea Lake, where he played in their premiership this year, and he spent time at Bendigo and Port Melbourne before that,” Black said.
