One of Colac’s largest businesses is continuing to grow and has accelerated plans for its latest expansion, which would provide Colac’s Murray Street with a facelift and tourism boost.

Frozen dairy retailer Bulla confirmed it has purchased the former building of McMahons Colac, at the corner of Hart and Murray streets.

Bulla’s Jane Wyatt said the expansion would increase its manufacturing capacity and the site would host a new retail store and tourism opportunity along the city’s main drag.

“Bulla Family Dairy is pleased to confirm the recent successful purchase of the McMahon’s site on Murray Street,” she said.

“We are thrilled with the new addition and the opportunity to not only grow our manufacturing capability, but also create an exciting retail experience here in Colac.

“Our team is currently working on the plans for the refurbishment of the site and will be refreshing the paint work on the outside of the building in the coming weeks while these plans are being developed.”
