Colac records first coronavirus case

Colac has recorded its first positive COVID-19 case.

Colac Area Health chief Fiona Brew said a patient presented to the hospital’s designated COVID-19 test centre on Wednesday, with results confirming a positive test today.

Mrs Brew said the resident was currently in isolation and that the hospital had informed the Department of Health and Human Services of the case.

DHHS will investigate the case further.

The Colac Herald will provide more details as they come to light and you can read more in Monday’s Colac Herald.
