An unprecedented drop in demand has forced AKD Softwoods to shut down its Irrewarra sawmill until further notice.

AKD Softwood's Irrewarra sawmill will close indefinitely, with the company to scale back operations by 20 per cent due to the coronavirus pandemic. Some staff members will face redundancies.
