An up-and-coming Tasmanian horse trainer has left the region with a soft spot for Colac after utilising its facilities while his home state was without racing during the coronavirus pandemic.

Tasmanian horse trainer Cameron Thompson briefly made the Colac Turf Club his home with his wife Beth after racing was postponed in his home state because of the coronavirus pandemic.
