A third Colac person has tested for COVID-19, with a close contact of Colac’s two other active cases receiving their positive test results this morning.
Colac Area Health chief executive Fiona Brew said this morning that contact tracing had led to the detection of the case.
“We are aware of three people at this point,” she said.
The contact tracing and urgent testing of close contacts started yesterday after a meat inspecting contractor at ALC returned a positive test yesterday morning.
A Trinity College Colac Year 12 student, who the Colac Herald believes is a close family contact of the first case, tested positive this morning. The school is undergoing a thorough deep clean and will be closed on Monday.
