Active COVID cases down again

Colac Otway now has 59 active cases of COVID-19, two less than yesterday.

But the total number of infections rose by one in today’s DHHS figures and now total 83.

It means 42 people have now recovered from COVID-19 in the shire, three more than yesterday.

The State Government has linked 83 cases to an outbreak at Australian Lamb Company Colac, which has remained steady for several days.

Surf Coast and Conragamite shires were both unchanged, with five and zero active cases respectively. Golden Plains also remained steady at 11.

Greater Geelong had five new cases to reach 300, but it had 10 recoveries to see its active total fall by five.

Victoria had 372 new cases in today’s data. There were 14 new deaths, with the state’s toll now at 289.
