Tarndwarncoort Homestead has welcomed flocks of fleece lovers for the International Back to Back Wool Challenge on the weekend.

The competition, which is in its 29th year, sees teams make a woollen jumper direct from a sheep’s back over the course of the day.

The iconic event has seen teams across France, Netherlands, USA, Canada, UK and more take on the test of endurance, but it originated locally in south-west Victoria.

Meanwhile, residential burglaries are continuing to decline in the shire.

Colac Police Senior Sergeant Michelle Delaney said the local increase was “largely driven by opportunistic offences, including retail theft”.
