Sharp decrease in active cases

Colac Otway’s active COVID-19 case total has plummetted by 11 today, with DHHS recording 74 active cases in its latest data.

The shire still has 108 total cases, with no new cases added to yesterday’s tally.

Active case totals at neighbouring shires Surf Coast, six, Corangamite, zero, and Golden Plains, 11, are all unchanged.

Meanwhile, Greater Geelong saw its active tally decrease by one to 179.

Victoria recorded 410 new cases in today’s data and has now seen 15,646 total cases with 7877 of those active.

A further 21 people died yesterday, bringing the state’s COVID-19 toll to 267. Sixteen of the deaths were linked to aged care.
