Active case numbers fall by one

Colac Otway’s number of active COVID-19 cases has fallen by one to 22 and there have been no new cases in the past 24 hours.

DHHS figures indicate the shire’s total case number remains at 133.

Geelong has four active cases, Warrnambool has one, and there are zero active cases across Corangamite, Surf Coast, Ballarat and Golden Plains.

DHHS has linked 13 active cases Bulla Dairy Foods in Colac, out of a total of 20 cases. These include employees, family members and other close contacts.

There are seven active cases currently linked to Wydinia Kindergarten in Colac, out of a total of 13 cases. These include staff and their contacts.

Victoria has recorded 42 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday, and no deaths. This is the first time Victoria has not recorded any COVID-19 deaths in the previous 24-hour period since 13 July.

Regional Victoria has 43 active cases, down from 47 yesterday, and the whole state has 1040 active, down from 1075 yesterday.

Regional Victoria will move to the third step of lifting restrictions at 11.59pm Wednesday.
