Active cases down to 10

Colac Otway’s active COVID case total has dropped to 10, after two recoveries and no new infections yesterday.

Of the 10 active cases five are linked to an outbreak at Colac’s Wydinia Kindergarten, which remains closed following confirmed cases at the site.

There are just 23 active cases across regional Victoria, with two in Greater Geelong and none in Surf Coast, Corangamite, or Golden Plains shires. Ballarat and Warrnambool are also virus-free, according to today’s DHHS figures.

DHHS said today that were 7164 tests across the state on Saturday, and the State Government is urging Victorians to keep test rates up to inform its decision making around easing of restrictions. Anyone with even mild symptoms should seek a COVID test, and stay at home while they wait for their results.

There were only 11 new cases reported across the state today, and there are 657 total active cases. Two more people died from coronavirus, bringing the toll to 763.
