A seventh Bulla Dairy Foods employee has tested positive to COVID-19, but the business is still planning to reopen its Connor Street facility on Saturday.
DHHS has advised Bulla that the most recent confirmed case is a household contact of a Connor Street employee and that the transmission did not occur at work.
Bulla last week instructed about 20 employees from its other sites at Forest Street and Kelly Court who shared a home with Connor Street employees to also self-isolate following workforce testing last week.
Meanwhile, the 244 staff from Connor Street that were classified as close contacts last week have all received negative test results from day-11 testing at Colac’s Central Reserve yesterday.
The facility is undergoing a deep clean from today until Friday with the aim to reopen on Saturday, then return to full production on Monday.

Where To Buy“Unfortunately, we have had one additional COVID-19 case confirmed within our Bulla community. This was a result of household transmission and the Department of Health and Human Services have advised that this most recent case is not workplace related,” Bulla chief Allan Hood said.
“This brings our total confirmed cases to seven within our Bulla team.
“This team member, along with the other six team members who are at home recovering, have the full support and well wishes of the entire Bulla family.
“As it stands, and in line with guidance from the DHHS, we are on track to reopen our Connor Street facility this Saturday, September 12. We look forward to safely returning to the site and re-starting production on some of Australia’s favourite ice creams.”
