Bulla Dairy Foods is waiting on the results of close contact testing before it decides when it will allow 314 employees to return to work, despite having the all-clear from authorities.
Bulla and health staff have identified four close contacts of a confirmed case that received their result on Sunday and caused Bulla to immediately shut down its Connor Street facility.
The four workers have all had tests and are waiting to hear from DHHS about their results.
Bulla’s operations general manager Kylie Armstrong said the company had DHHS clearance to re-open but it would wait for the results before making its decision in the best interests of its staff and the Colac community.
“Once we’ve got the data to make an informed decision, we’ll be good to go,” she said.

“The safety and wellbeing of all of our employees is our number one priority.
“We have had clearance from DHHS to re-open, however we want to wait until we’ve got these results to make sure we keep our people safe.”
Bulla expects to receive the information and to make a decision regarding re-opening today. Three of the close contacts received their tests late on Sunday, with the other person tested yesterday morning.
