The average number of new COVID-19 cases in regional Victoria has dipped below five, indicating a review of restrictions could happen in coming weeks if the trend continues.
Regional Victoria has recorded an average of 4.9 new cases daily over the past 14 days, the latest DHHS figures show.
The State Government’s reopening roadmap says regional Victoria would move to the third step of reopening when the daily average number of new cases is below five, and when there have been zero cases from an unknown source in the past 14 days. These conditions are a trigger point for a public health review to move to looser restrictions.
Regional Victoria now has 82 active cases, down from 95 yesterday.
As reported earlier, rural Victoria recorded no new cases in the past 24 hours, including in Colac which has the highest active case rate per head of population for the state.

DHHS says 15 active cases are currently linked to Bulla Dairy Foods in Colac. Bulla has confirmed that six of these are staff members.
The whole Victoria has recorded 55 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday, with 1696 currently active cases, down from 1781 yesterday.
There have been eight new deaths from COVID-19 reported since yesterday. Two men aged in their 60s, two men aged in their 80s and three men and one woman aged in their 90s. Five of the deaths occurred before yesterday.
