The Colac Braves delivered another commanding perf

The Colac Braves delivered another commanding performance dismantling the Werribee Giants 13-1 in a comprehensive team win on Saturday.

Brendan Delorenzo was in control throughout the match with the bat, driving in four runs on two hits and setting the tone from the outset. His first-innings two-run homer to left field had the Braves moving early.

Colac Otway Shire Council is going to “let natur

Colac Otway Shire Council is going to “let nature take its course” and allow a colony of bats to remain roosting in heritage trees in the Colac Botanic Gardens.

It comes after the council spent more than $300,000 over a period of four years unsuccessfully attempting to move the grey-headed flying foxes.

A council officer explained that the council had attempted to disperse and ‘nudge’ the bats from their current location near the playground but never managed to get them to the preferred spot along the northern side of the gardens.

Incumbent Wannon MP Dan Tehan says he has been able to deliver for the electorate both while in opposition and in government.

“The teals can talk a lot, but in the end it’s very hard for them to achieve anything because they just don’t have the numbers, and as one voice it’s very hard to get anything delivered whereas a collective voice you’ve got a lot more power and influence,” Mr Tehan said this week.
