A fundraiser in honour of Colac’s Harry Treweek who was stillborn at 38 weeks has raised more than $6000 for a stillbirth charity.

Colac Fire Brigade captain Daniel Williams is not

Colac Fire Brigade captain Daniel Williams is not happy with the proposed plans for the Lake Colac foreshore, which would force the brigade to relocate its training track.

Colac Otway Shire Council has endorsed a draft Colac Botanic Gardens master plan and is seeking community feedback before it goes back to the council for approval.

The draft plan includes the removal of the Colac Fire Brigade running track where the district’s firemen and women have trained for decades, with the Central Reserve Master Plan, adopted in 2022, allocating space for a CFA training facility.

Colac’s Second Sea Scouts received a $10,000 grant to replace their stairs and improve storage in the scout’s hall, and Riley and Raya Johnson were very happy scouts when they heard the news.

Memories of traumatic experiences sit around almost every corner of Apollo Bay for Colin Cooper.

After three decades as a policeman, the toll of attending many deaths and traumatic events such as horrific car fatalities, suicides, workplace related deaths, violent assaults and drownings finally caught up with him in 2022 and he retired from the Victoria Police Force.

Colin is currently training to tackle the Kokoda Trek in August to raise the awareness of PTSD.
