Telstra outage to continue until tomorrow

UPGRADE: Telstra will be upgrading its mobile base station that services Cobden to bring new 5G coverage to the area.

An outage affecting Colac’s 3G Telstra customers will likely last overnight.

The telco giant confirmed a hardware issue had caused services to go down again today, and expected its Colac 3G network to be online again tomorrow.

It said it was working with impacted local businesses to keep them up-to-date.

“A hardware issue is disrupting 3G services in Colac. 4G and 5G services are not affected,” Telstra Regional General Manager Steve Tinker said.

“We know this is frustrating for customers, particularly local businesses, after the recent severe storms. We are working to get everyone back online as quickly as possible and thank everyone for their patience.

Where To Buy

“We also encourage business owners talk to their bank about connecting their EFTPOS terminals to their NBNor Wi-Fi connection if possible to prevent delays in processing transactions.”

Colac and district Telstra customers were without services including landlines for several days earlier this month due to widespread storm damage.
