The news keeps getting better for Colac’s Josh Garner on the eve of his Victorian Second XI debut after he was reportedly named in Australia’s initial squad for next year’s under-19 World Cup.
The Geelong Advertiser reported Garner and Cats teammates Liam Blackford and Vincent Huf are part of a 36-player squad, which is set to be finalised in December ahead of the tour of the West Indies next year.
Garner, 18, jetted off to Sydney earlier today to play a Second XI game for Victoria against New South Wales Metro following his shock selection on Friday.
