The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted ideal conditions for the holidays. Picnics and outdoor barbecues will be in order, with Christmas Day in Colac to have a maximum temperature of 26 degrees and partly cloudy. A move to Colac has helped inspire a semi-professional tennis star to make a return to the court.

Mote Dambo was once rubbing shoulders with Australia’s best young tennis stars like three-time grand slam winner Ash Barty, Bernard Tomic and Jason Kubler on the International Tennis Federation circuit.

But his prospering tennis career was troubled with consistent knee setbacks during his younger years, leading Dambo to step away from the sport.

Two Colac sisters will compete at the 2025 Victorian Karate Championships tomorrow.

Charlie and Summah Wilson had great success at the NZKK Open National Tournament in Auckland earlier this year and will look to back up their performances on the path to the World Tournament in Japan later this year.

Sunday’s proceedings mark the eighth time in as many years that the martial artists will have fought at the state tournament.

Colac’s RACV agency operating within the Toyota

Colac’s RACV agency operating within the Toyota dealership on Murray Street will close by the second half of this year.

RACV executive general manager Mark Geraghty thanked the team in Colac for their service over the past 25 years.

“After consideration of the changing needs of our members and our business, the RACV has decided to end the agreement with our agent servicing the Colac area,” Mr Geraghty said.
