National day’s change of date

We might associate Australia Day with hot weather, being in the middle of summer. But Colac has previously celebrated Australia Day in the depths of winter.

NO T-SHIRTS, NO THONGS: Heavy winter jackets were the order of the day when Colac residents marked Australia Day on July 30, 1915. Victoria started marking Australia Day in January in the 1930s.
