Colac district junior cricket officials have proposed a new-look under-14 finals series that would see all 11 teams play finals.
The past model has had the top-four sides advancing through to play in a first-versus-fourth and second-plays-third semi-final with winner advancing through to the grand final.
But due to the weather wreaking havoc on the competition, teams have only played seven of a possible 12 matches this season.
The CDCA junior board proposed a new modified system which would see three separate playoff competitions and all 11 sides make finals.
Teams finishing in the top four would play under the usual finals system with the semi-final winner to play-off for the Division One premiership.

Where To BuyOutside of the original final-four system, the board proposed the fifth-placed side would take on seventh and the sixth-placed versus eighth in a semi-final, with the winners advancing to a grand final and playing for a Division Two title.
Tenth-placed would then play the 11th side, with the winner taking on the ninth-placed side in a Division Three grand final.
Colac district junior cricket official Nick Hay said the board felt that due to the number of games missed, a modified finals series would give the opportunity for kids to play extra games.
“Unfortunately, the weather has continued to cause issues with the current season,” he said.
“The junior board proposed a modified finals series to include all sides with the overarching purpose to give our under-14s a few more games.
“This gives the opportunity for all teams to square off in finals against similar teams on the ladder.
“The board feel this is important as we have missed so many games due to rain. Our job is to provide as many opportunities as possible for kids to learn and participate in games of cricket.”
