Colac Otway Shire Council will ask an association to call on the State Government reassess its emergency services funding shakeup.

Councillors voted unanimously on a motion to the Municipal Association of Victoria to ask the government to reassess the funding model of the proposed Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund, which could see fire levy bills for primary producers rise by 189 per cent from July 1.

But this might be the reality if their work visas aren’t granted.

Mango and Pam will head to the Federal Immigration Court in Melbourne tomorrow to learn their fate and whether they’ll be forced to leave Australia.
