BRIGHT IDEA: Colac Otway U3A members took over Colac's Memorial Square for a tai chi session to mark World Tai Chi Day.

Members of Colac Otway U3A have joined in a worldwide celebration of tai chi.

Saturday was World Tai Chi Day, with people in more than 80 countries having events at 10am local time to celebrate the gentle martial art.

U3A members gathered in Colac’s Memorial Square for an hour to display the traditional Chinese exercise.

Instructor Barbara Gower led the group in techniques of tai chi, chi kung, fan form, bamboo form and more.
