A historic Colac building has received a fresh
lick of paint for its 100th birthday, but there’s plenty of
future upgrades to come to help restore the building to
its former glory.

The Regent Theatre, which is currently home to the Colac
RSL, first opened as the Paramount Theatre in March
1925 and later became the Regent in 1931. The building
switched into the hands of the RSL in the late 1900s.

An Apollo Bay youth group has launched for
another year of fun.

Supported by the Anthony Costa Foundation, and led by
lead youth worker Tobias Bucek and Senuri Seneviratne
and supported by volunteers, the group was funded for
each school term for all of 2025 for students in Year
Seven to Year 12.

A host of vintage bike lovers are ready to wind
back the clock as the Beeac to the Red Rock Retro Ride
returns to the district on Sunday.

Colac Cranks captain Tim O’Sullivan is anticipating the
retro ride with fellow cyclists

Cyclists will take off from the Beeac Heritage Windmill
Park this Sunday at 11am with two options available for the ride.

A community-led petition calling for answers on fu

A community-led petition calling for answers on funding for Birregurra’s health service has garnered more than 600 signatures.

The petition calls on the State Government to reinstate $350,000 in critical funding for the Birregurra Community Health Centre and has been circulating across the community during February.

Vicki handed the petition to Polwarth MP Richard Riordan on Wednesday, and Mr Riordan will table the petition in Parliament next week.

Western United A-League players Grace
Maher and Alana Cerne travelled to Trinity College on
Tuesday afternoon as part of a Colac Otway Rovers
female soccer clinic.

There were 30 participants at the clinic learning a variety
of fundamental soccer skills from their idols.
