Camper stolen as victims slept inside near Lorne

This dog named Pablo is missing after the theft of a camper trailer at Cumberland River.

A woman was dragged along the Great Ocean Road after the theft of a camper trailer she was sleeping in near Lorne, while a male victim was trapped inside the vehicle.

Torquay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following vehicle theft at Cumberland River early Sunday.

The vehicle with a camper trailer and annexe was parked at a rest stop on Great Ocean Road, with a man, a woman and two dogs asleep inside.

A male offender jumped in the vehicle around midnight and drove off, despite the sleeping occupants.

The 20-year-old Wallan woman was dragged a short distance inside the annexe before falling onto the road, causing a minor injury.

The 20-year-old Wallan man remained inside the attached camper trailer until the vehicle broke down at Lorne and the offender fled on foot.

One of the dogs, Pablo, is still missing and investigators have released an image of him in the hope someone might have seen him.
