When Ruby Bowers raced towards the Alvie faithful and geed them up after addressing her players at three-quarter time, you could sense the Swans weren’t letting a premiership slip in 2024.

The defender was under the ring when Irrewarra-Beeac’s Rachael Seabright broke the Swans’ hearts 12 months ago, scoring a goal on the siren to end Alvie’s run of two-straight flags.

Bowers said the club’s plans to reclaim the mantle as Colac district netball’s top team started immediately after last year’s loss, and her team pulled it together to cap off a dominant finals’ series this month.

The Dolphins put the finishing touches on a stellar season with a grand final win against Irrewarra-Beeac, 7.8 (50) to 4.8 (32).

It was Lorne’s 14th senior football premiership in Colac District Football Netball League history.
