Law change concerns ex-cop

LAW CHANGE: Retired police sergeant Phil Edge says it is not the job of paramedics to deal with drunk people, but they will be the ones left to deal with them once the state government decriminalizes public drunkenness on November 7.

Being drunk in a public place will no longer be a criminal offence from Melbourne Cup Day but a local retired police sergeant says this leaves police with their hands tied.
