Colac’s RACV agency operating within the Toyota

Colac’s RACV agency operating within the Toyota dealership on Murray Street will close by the second half of this year.

RACV executive general manager Mark Geraghty thanked the team in Colac for their service over the past 25 years.

“After consideration of the changing needs of our members and our business, the RACV has decided to end the agreement with our agent servicing the Colac area,” Mr Geraghty said.

Colac Otway Shire Council is proposing to cease it

Colac Otway Shire Council is proposing to cease its bat nudging program and leave the animals where they are in the Colac Botanic Gardens.

The council will discuss the management of the grey headed flying foxes in the gardens at its monthly council meeting next week, after previous discussions were withdrawn from the council’s September agenda.

The bats have called the gardens home seasonally since 2016, with numbers fluctuating due to factors including weather, food, the change of seasons and the nomadic nature of the species.
