@colactigersfnc netball officials are confident that Irrewarra-Beeac premiership coach Dave Boyce is the right person to lead the club’s developing young list from 2025.

The Tigers announced Boyce to the playing group this week, following two grand finals and a flag in his two seasons with the Colac district league Bombers.

Charlie’s brother Tom is gearing up to play a key role in Sydney’s AFL grand final side against Brisbane this weekend.

The Swans have had a special connection with the McCartin family, with Tom and older brother Paddy both playing in the club’s 2022 AFL grand final team, while Charlie has had an opportunity with the Swans’ VFL team this year.

While they had mixed outcomes in their grand finals, talented Colac siblings Ellinor and Ingemar Borrack achieved a rare double in footy and netball.

Ellinor led @southcolacsc to a 17-and-under netball premiership, claiming best-on-court honours to cap off a big season for the A Grade rising star.

A dominant South under-14.5 footy outfit had the better of Ingemar’s @westerneaglesfnc_ side in their decider, but officials adjudged the youngster as the best performer on the field.

Not even four forced changes and coming up against the minor premiers could stop Alvie from winning this year’s reserves premiership.

The Swans lost four senior players from the second semi-final team that beat the Tigers a fortnight ago after Alvie’s seniors got knocked out of finals last year.

But reserves coach Liam Williamson said he was confident all along that Saturday’s group could get the job done, with
the Swans winning, 9.9 (62) to 4.2 (26).
