Colac Visitor Information Centre campaigners are overjoyed that the centre will be revitalised under a new vision, with volunteers also returning to the centre.

Colac Otway Shire Council approved a new two-year lease for the Visitor Information Centre at a recent council meeting.

Local Driver Reviver volunteers braved sweltering conditions across the long weekend to help motorists recharge with biscuits, tea and laughter at Colac’s rest site.

Co-ordinator Glenn Rippon said the beginning of the weekend was relatively quiet with 35 drivers passing through on Friday, 11 on Saturday and 12 on Sunday.

Since its development, Elliminyt’s Ruby Court has only had a bitumen footpath on one side of the court.
