Sixteen-year-old Mia Compton was born with hip dysplasia in her right hip, but doctors never picked up the birth defect. Compton’s condition came from having a hip socket that was too shallow, meaning her hip wouldn’t fit securely and would repeatedly dislocate.

    Colac and district businesses could be set to bene Colac and district businesses could be set to benefit from the Reserve Bank of Australia’s proposal to abolish debit and credit card surcharges.

It comes as the cost-of-living crisis continues to impact community members, and the Reserve Bank suggests the costs are no longer beneficial.

The RBA is proposing to eliminate surcharges on Eftpos, Mastercard and Visa card payments from July 2026 and lower fees for businesses using card payments systems.
