    It’s been 4734 days since Colac’s Philip Gayla It’s been 4734 days since Colac’s Philip Gaylard was killed in a car crash and not a second goes by when the Gaylard family doesn’t think about the charismatic person that was taken from their lives in an instant.

Philip died on July 28, 2012. He was driving home to Colac when a four-wheel drive collided with him near Ballarat.

Now, the family is sharing their story as part of the @tacvictoria’s latest road safety initiative, The Hardest Share. The initiative encourages people to tell their stories of road trauma so that others don’t have to go through it.

    A new Parliamentary petition asking to reduce the A new Parliamentary petition asking to reduce the probationary driving age to 17 has received mixed reactions in Colac and district.

In a Colac Herald online poll, 135 votes or 62 per cent supported lowering the age, while 38 per cent said it should not be lowered.

Seventeen-year-old Archie Millar agreed that there were benefits to lowering the driving age.
