    District farmers are considering stepping down fro District farmers are considering stepping down from their firefighting roles if a proposed levy is passed in parliament this week.

Meanwhile, a petition calling on the State Government to scrap the bill has amassed more than 4400 signatures in just a few days.

Farmers, firefighters and local politicians met at the Barunah Hall on Friday afternoon to discuss their next course of action while they await the outcome of the proposed Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund.

    Three Colac district riders have blitzed the Victo Three Colac district riders have blitzed the Victorian Offroad Championships in last weekend’s enduro competition at Dartmoor.

Luke Paton, Lilley Sexton and Archer Paton showed why they were rising stars of the junior enduro scene. The trio of riders have attended close to 20 competitive events to date.
