Colac and district netballers secured wins in the 13-and-under, 15-and-under and 17-and-under junior interleague competitions on Sunday,

The Colac Herald captured the players at their peak performance.
    New acting District Six assistant chief fire offic New acting District Six assistant chief fire officer Peter Lockwood is settling into his role and is preparing to lead the region through drought and a potential early fire season.

Peter started at Colac earlier this month and will be in the position until July next year, replacing Craig Brittain who retired recently.

Peter’s latest chapter is part of a career that began when he joined the CFA as a junior volunteer at Maffra about 45 years ago.

Year Nine students have contributed a couple of hours’ work each Monday at the @colac_salvos community center during term two.

Part of the school’s Year Nine curriculum involves students focusing on the community for the term, helping with organisations like nursing homes and the council.
