Colac Herald photographer Chloe Lang visited Alvie Primary School this week, capturing students enjoying their wetland area. 

The school received a grant that will help improve the two-hectare area to enhance student learning and understanding in the areas of resource management and sustainability.

Colac’s Sam Grinton has seen firsthand the effects of brain cancer, after watching her father Ian Fennell lose a battle with a glioblastoma tumour in 2013. 

Almost nine years since his death, Sam - pictured with husband Tommy and children Olly, Elijah and Haddie - is preparing to tackle her first half-marathon in his memory, in a bid to raise money and awareness for brain cancer.
