CARLISLE RIVER’s Aiden Barnhart might only be seven years old, but he already knows what he wants to be when he grows up.
He wants to be on the radio.
Aiden is a regular panellist on Colac and district community radio station OCR FM’s Sunday Afternoon Delightprogram – a show dedicated to all things confectionery.
The Grade One pupil said the best part of being on the radio was “the lollies”, which he said he was allowed to eat while on-air.
“We don’t do the same lolly all the time, last week we did Cherry Ripe,” he said.
Aiden’s dad Richard said Aiden “looks forward to it every week”.
“He loves it,” Mr Barnhart said.
He said Aiden started his time at OCR FM through Scouts and knowing OCR FM’s Tyson and Jonathan Graham.
“He started at the Relay for Life, he walked around and interviewed people and that’s what led up to it,” Mr Barnhart said.
“In the summertime he wants to do something like street talk,” he said.
“He just loves the community.”
Aiden is on OCR FM Sundays from 3pm until 4pm.
